P. Gladbach (Uni Leipzig): Homogenization of discrete and continuous optimal transport

Ort: Oberseminar Analysis Augusteum A 314

We consider dynamic optimal transport problems, where mass is transported through space in time, with a spatially inhomogeneous transport cost depending on the density and velocity of the mass at time t and position x, with the cost oscillating at a much smaller scale than the transport distance. We formulate a limiting homogeneous optimal transport problem in the sense of Gamma-convergence. In particular, we can approximate discrete transport costs on very large periodic graphs, by homogeneous continuous costs and vice versa.
