I am a junior professor at Leipzig University, working in the fields of operator algebras and operator theory. My research focus lies on Markov operators, which occur in a variety of different situations, from analysis on graphs over optimal transport to von Neumann algebra theory. I am particularly interested in the flow of ideas between pure mathematics and mathematical physics. recently, most of my research has revolved around algebraic structures of quantum dynamics.
Before joining Leipzig University in 2024, I did my PhD at the University of Jena under the supervision of Daniel Lenz in 2020. Then I joined the Maas group at the Institute of Science and Technology Austria (ISTA) as a postdoc. From 2022 until 2024, I was the principal investigator of the project Gradient flow techniques for quantum Markov semigroups funded by the Austrian Science Fund (FWF) under the Esprit Programme.
