Felix-Klein-Kolloquium

The Felix Klein Colloquium usually takes place on Wednesdays, 2-4 times per semester. It is given by distinguished speakers who present an area or areas of their expertise in broad strokes.

The colloquium provides an opportunity for speakers to present their unique view of the overall developments in a given field, without necessarily focusing on their most recent research findings (although this is also possible when presented as part of a wider picture).

The colloquium is intended to be accessible to a wide audience of mathematicians working in many different areas of the mathematical sciences. In particular the speakers are encouraged to present some basic motivations behind the discussed results, even if they are very well known to the experts.

The colloquium is followed by a reception with the speaker, which is also an opportunity for the Mathematics Institute to get together in an informal setting.
