Carlos Román Postdoctoral researcher in mathematics

Research interests: My research interests lie primarily in the calculus of variations and nonlinear partial differential equations. I have focused on the Ginzburg-Landau model of superconductivity, mathematical biology, and conformal geometry. The common point in my diverse research interests is about the analysis of singularities in elliptic equations.

I am a postdoctoral researcher jointly at the Institute of Mathematics, Leipzig University and at the Max Planck Institute for Mathematics in the Sciences. I successfully defended my Ph.D. thesis, supervised by Etienne Sandier and Sylvia Serfaty, at the Jacques-Louis Lions Laboratory, Pierre and Marie Curie University on December 15, 2017.
