Overview of the City center

Arriving by plane or train:
There is a very convenient train shuttle connection from Halle/Leipzig-Airport to Leipzig main train station. It takes about 20 minutes, see also MPI-travel directions.
The city center is fairly compact. The University main building on Augustusplatz is 5 minutes walk from the main train station.

The student housing dormitories are located
at Tarostrasse
12, 14 and 16,

They can be reached via tram, line no 16 heading to Lößnig. Exit the tram at
the station Johannisallee. Here

The Guest house of the Gustav-Adolf-Werk is located in Pistorisstr. 6 further outside of the center, on the overview
map it would be just below "Rödelstr." at the lower left corner. It can be reached from main train station by tram line no. 1, direction "Lausen", exit "Rödelstrasse".
To reach the lecture hall from the guest house, take tram line no. 2, direction "Meusdorf", exit Bayrischer Platz, or alternatively Bus No. 60, direction Lipsiusstr., exit "Bayrischer Platz".
The Ökumenisches Gästehaus is located in Leipzig-Grünau, Weisdornstr. 102. This lies further outside of the center, 20 minutes by tram from the main train station, see also alternative map.
To reach the guest house from the main train station, take tram No. 15, direction Miltitz, exit "Parkallee".
To reach the lecture hall from the guest house, take tram No. 15, direction Meusdorf, exit "Johannisplatz" and walk ca. 5-10 minutes.
Please note: Travel by bus or tram requires the purchase of tickets at a vending machine (e.g. street car stop in front of main train station). Either single or 4-ride-tickets are available and have to be stamped inside of bus or tram. There is no sale of tickets inside bus or tram!
